Weeding Through the Risks for a Cannabis Client
This program will review key considerations when deciding whether to accept clients in the cannabis industry and how to manage the risk of serving cannabis clients. The program will review the available professional guidance, survey some of the more important tax issues, provide an overview of regulatory and legal issues that impact cannabis clients and their accounting, and address the risk management issues that should be considered when working with this industry. The program will also discuss current events, specifically how an accounting firm’s work in the cannabis industry can impact Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) borrowing.
