While COVID-19 has forced many of us into some form of isolation and self-examination, recent social events are also forcing us to look outward and examine long-standing obstacles to justice and freedom for many of our nation’s citizens. People of color who have suffered systematic oppression and violence are once again calling on us to rise to the cause of equality.

The Landy Agency wishes to join the call for freedom and justice for all. The idea that we still must do this in 2020 speaks volumes about how precious that freedom is, how some of us can take it for granted, and how others must struggle every day for that basic dignity promised to every American. Today, we speak out against racism and injustice, lost opportunity and potential, and economic and physical violence to any person. We support our heroes who protect our freedom and our health but can make no excuse for institutional prejudice or oppression. Hate and violence must never be tolerated.

The turmoil we face today can be an opportunity to make a better society. Many have bravely come before us to do this, and in each case, we have been forced to decide where we stand as individuals and as a nation. Where do we stand today? What are your hopes for all people for tomorrow? We hope that we can all take this opportunity to find ways, large and small, to help make sure that our great nation truly provides freedom and justice for all.

Thank you.

“No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin, or his background, or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite”

No Good Deed Goes Unpunished

by Richard Monahan - The expression “no good deed goes unpunished” is a skeptically humorous comment when acts of kindness backfire on those that offer them.
